Breathe easy with a clean carpet

You can be as careful as can be, wiping your feet before coming inside the house or taking your shoes off entirely, never drinking red wine, ever, or any other colored liquid for that matter; but understand this, you will spill something on your carpet eventually. Carpeting adds warmth to a home or room and can even act as an air filter by trapping circulating particles and bacteria in the air as they fall, by way of gravity, down on to the floor. But what happens when the “filter” gets clogged? When it becomes so saturated with dirt and particles that the filter no longer works? Well then the air quality around you will diminish as will your over all well being by aggravating conditions like allergies and asthma.

All carpeting over time will get dirty, sometimes really dirty, that’s when it’s time to call in the trained professionals to do a good carpet cleaning and really get deep into the heart of the problem by cleaning up the carpet and therefore the air.

Here are a few reasons why you should have your carpet cleaned:

  1. Air Quality: As you learned above, your carpet acts as an air filter much like your central air conditioning or heating unit. All the dust particles and bacteria in the air gravity eventually pushes down on the floor where it remains trapped in the carpet thereby cleaning up the air. For sufferers of respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, or emphysema one major source of attacks could be pollens, fungus, and other particles caught in your carpet. Remember, you eat, sleep, and breathe around that carpet so it’s worth it to make sure you’re eating, sleeping, and breathing the cleanest air possible.

  1. Get rid of Mold: Let’s be honest, there’s nothing quite like stepping out of bed on to nice, warm, fluffy carpet on a cold winter morning. What you may not know is that warm carpet can be a breeding ground for mold. Cleaning the carpet regularly prevents mold formations and all the possible skin allergies and infections that can come with it.

  1. Appearance: Last but certainly not least is having that carpet looking and smelling brand new again. A nice clean carpet reminds you why you decided to put in carpet in the first place. The air is clean, the room smells fresh, and the carpet looks wonderfully clean.

There are quite a few methods used to clean carpeting. Whether you go with Dry cleaning using methods such as:

Dry Foam: where a shampoo is applied to the carpet then vacuumed out after it dries
Dry-Chem: where a dry chemical is used then absorbed by a machine along with the dirt
Dry-Compound: where a special mixture is spread on the carpet and brushed into the carpet by a special machine. A vacuum machine then sucks all the material out of the carpeting.

Or you decide on a generally preferred method commonly known as Hot Water extraction or Steam Cleaning (despite no steam ever being used in this method) where hot water is forced under high pressure into the carpet then sucked, or extracted, back out.

Whichever method you decide regular carpet cleaning is important. Talk to a professional about which method would work best for your situation. Give that carpet a good cleaning, take a deep breath and enjoy your carpet as it looks brand new again.
