Good Vacuums Make for a Healthy Carpet

And a healthy carpet makes for a healthy home. Many people don't realize that vacuuming their carpet is one of the best ways to increase the life of their carpet. As such, a good vacuum cleaner and proper vacuuming techniques are helpful.
The first and most important rule is to vacuum  at least twice a week. This keeps the dust and soil from the day from settling into the carpet fibers. When vacuuming, most people push the vacuum in a "W" shape. However, this is very inefficient as most people put more emphasis into the pushing movement. It is indeed the pulling action that removes any dust, debris and other allergens from the carpet. The forward motion should be considered only a positioning motion. Don't forget to use the nozzle attachment to clean around baseboards and such!
Alright, so now we know the proper way to vacuum! Awesome! Now the question is: do we have a vacuum that is right for our carpet?
The vacuums we recommend are vacuums with a beater bar and HEPA filters. Although, it does depend on the pile of your carpet. First, let me explain "pile." The pile of your carpet is how tall the fibers are. For example, this rug has a higher pile than this rug. So in order to vacuum each carpet properly you'd need the proper vacuum. Any professional you have come to your home or business should have a vacuum with an adjustable beater bar, to accommodate the pile of your carpet. However, I'm not telling you to go out and buy an industrial grade vacuum!
For high pile carpets, I recommend something with adjustable heights, efficient airflow, and large wheels.
For medium or low pile carpets, a vacuum with a smaller power-head would do just fine, with the added bonus of being able to vacuum other types of flooring too. Although, if your carpets have  a lot of pet hair, I would recommend you go with something that has a turbo-head.
But having a good, appropriate vacuum is just the beginning. We also need to worry about maintaining it so it doesn't lose any suction power. Before you freak out and start to think "Oh goodness! MORE things to worry about?!" let me tell you that the maintenance of the vacuum is quite a simple thing.
  • Clean Bag Often: when the bag is about  half full, you should empty or replace the bag.
  • Check the Belts: make sure they can spin the brush, i.e. no tears
  • Check the Height Adjuster: if you have a height adjuster (Awesome!) make sure it is set so the bush just barely touches the carpet, this will maintain the proper amount of suction, too high or too low will cause problems.
See? Easy!
Of course as with all things, a professional cleaning is always a good idea! For your carpets, I recommend JP Carpet Cleaning Expert Floor Care.
     So happy vacuuming!!

Clean Dark Water Spots From Hardwood

Have dark spots on your hardwood floors? Here's our simple at-home solution (of course, we recommend a professional for a more extensive cleaning, but this is a good "in between" fix).

The first step would be to clean the spot and surrounding area with No. 2 steel wool and a wood floor cleaner or mineral spirits. Thoroughly wash the spotted area with household vinegar and allow it to remain for three to four minutes before buffing the area to remove the vinegar. If the spot is still there, sand with fine sandpaper, following the grain pattern of the wood and feathering out 3 to 4 inches into surrounding area. Apply the vinegar again and again allow it to remain for three to four minutes. If the spot is still there, repeat the sanding. If two repeated applications of the vinegar do not remove the spot, apply an oxalic acid solution directly on the spot. Proportions are one ounce of oxalic acid to one quart of water.

**Always use the recommended cleaner for your floors, and buff vigorously with clean towel. Refinishing might be necessary. And never be afraid of calling for help, our experts are here to help you (818) 263-9314!

Carpet Beetles

Carpet Beetles

Just when we took all the precautions for bed bugs a new indoor bug comes into the lime light... the carpet beetle also known as the flour or furniture beetle. These rather tiny beetles come in different shapes, colors and very in sizes.
These beetles will eat just about anything organic. For example, these bugs will eat your carpet, furniture, lint, hair, clothes, blankets, pet food, animal nests, leather, pollen from flowers, flour, grains and many more materials.
What do you need to do to get rid of these bugs?
  • Go through your pantry and check flour and grains
  • Check closets, drawers, storage boxes
  • Check under carpets and area rugs
  • Check your couches and chairs
Thoroughly vacuum (looking for a good one? Here's some tips on what to look for!) your home and wash all bed linens and clothing in hot soapy water. The next step is to have your carpet professionally steam cleaned; make sure you get a deep steam cleaning. It is sometimes useful to treat infested areas with insecticides to eliminate residual populations of carpet beetles. In nonfood areas household formulation of various pyrethroid insecticides can be used. Numerous products allow such use and contain as the active ingredient permethrin, bifenthrin, deltamethrin, tralomethrin and realted compounds. Use according to label directions and pay particular attention to treating baseboards, corners, edges of carpeting and other areas where lint and other debris accumulates that is fed on by carpet beetles. To keep them from coming back, make sure there is no hair and dust floating through your home. Thus you must keep up a cleaning regiment: vacuum often (at least 2 times a week), keep all flour products and grains in air tight containers. If you follow these steps, you should get rid of them and stay rid of them.

Hardwood Flooring

Choosing to have new flooring is a big decision, on that you need to be well informed. Should I go with real wood or laminate? If you are not sure you need to educate your self, find out what the difference is.

Laminate floor is made of high density fiberboard core, placed between a melamine laminate backing and a high quality photographic paper. The image can range from wood, stone or any other natural flooring. There are a few hybrid products that replace the photographic paper with a very thin piece of real wood veneer.

There are benefits and drawbacks to both hardwood and laminate flooring: hardwood floors can be scratched, but scratches can be repaired. If laminate floors get scratched, it’s not very easy to repair. A hardwood floor can be sanded to remove any imperfections; you can not do this with a laminate floor. One benefit to laminate floors is that they do not fade or turn yellow from sunlight. Most stained wood floors will change color over time. On the other hand wood floors can be restored to their original beauty. Laminate floors never need to be waxed or polished, they also hold up better in a kitchen or bathroom, where hardwood floors do not do well in rooms with a lot of moisture.

Ultimately, the decision is yours whether you go with hardwood or laminate flooring; you need to examine what is best for you, your family and for your home. But don't fret, you can always turn to the experts at JP Carpet Cleaning Expert Floor Care if you need help or have any questions at all!

Choosing Hardwood Flooring

Choosing what type of wood floors best suit you home is an important decision. The 3 main types of hardwood floors are: solid wood – engineered wood – acrylic impregnated flooring. When choosing your flooring you should keep in mind that solid hardwoods may require more upkeep than engineered wood flooring, but they can be re-sand and refinished.

Solid wood flooring comes in unfinished and pre-finished  the difference is that unfinished floors need to be installed, sanded, stained and sealed. Pre-finished wood floors just have to be installed; they have been finished at the factory. Three main types:

Solid wood:

            Strip flooring – has a set width, from 1 ½, 2 and 2 ¼ inches
Plank flooring – comes in 2 thicknesses, but is available in widths from 3 to 8 inches
Parquet flooring – made up of geometrical patterns composed of individual wood slats

Engineered wood flooring is produced by adhering layers of plastic laminate veneer with real wood. (You should not confuse engineered wood flooring with laminate flooring; there is no actual wood in laminate flooring.)

Acrylic-impregnated wood flooring is infused with color and sealant throughout the thickness of the wood, so the finish is actually all the way through the wood. (Mostly used commercially)

Marble Maintenance

Marble is a very beautiful and unique natural stone. Whether it is in kitchen, bath or throughout your home it can be a challenge to clean. If you do not sweep or vacuum your floors dust and dirt can and will leave scratches. So sweep and vacuum as often as you can. To clean or wash your marble never use an acidic cleaner. The best thing is a little mild dish soap in warm water. The key is to always rinse your mop in between strokes; you don’t want to push dirt from on side to the other. After mopping always dry the marble never let it air dry. Marble being a porous stone even water can leave spots.

Whether you like the mirror shine or a matte finish, you will need to have a professional come and polish the marble by using diamond abrasive compound to smooth down and bring back the finish that you desire.

Never scrub. Always blot.

Take Caution!!

The golden rule when spot cleaning your carpet in between professional cleanings is to never scrub, always blot. Scrubbing will push the spot more  into the fibers of the carpet and make it hard for JP Carpet Cleaning to remove. It's not impossible but it is definitively hard to get out. First, get up as much of the spill as possible the blot the rest when you have removed as much as you can. Then sprinkle with baking soda or salt, this will absorb more. When it is completely dry vacuum up. If there is any residue take some warm water and a very little dish soap blot it up.

A Natural Way to Remove Pet Stains

If you are looking for a more natural way to get up pet urine, the key is to act fast, so that the stain has no time to penetrate into the carpet. Get up as much of the solid and liquid waste as possible. There are a few products that you can use that are safe for you carpet and pets:
  1. Vinegar – pour directly onto the area; allow it to soak in for a minute then begin blotting with a clean dry towel until the stain is gone. Remember to always blot never rub.
  2. Baking Soda – coat the entire area; allow it to sit until it is completely dry (usually overnight), vacuum the stain and odor away.
  3. Salt – sprinkle a generous amount onto the stain, allow it to work for a couple of hours then vacuum up.
Hopefully you can catch it before it has time to set into your carpet. The key is to act fast and if none these solutions work you should contact a professional carpet cleaner.

Fresh Red Wine Stain Removal

If someone spilled red wine on your light colored carpet or upholstery, don't worry, it's not the end of the world. If you act fast you can remedy the problem yourself. Here is the first of several solutions to resolve your red wine spill.

First, as with any spill, blot up as much of the liquid as you can. Pour white wine on a red wine spill. The white wine will dissipate the red wine. Again blot up as much as you can. If you can still see the stain generously sprinkle with salt, while the salt is drying it should lift out the remaining red wine. If you don't get the stain out yourself do not hesitate to contact a professional carpet cleaner.

Share your stories about red wine spills with us!

If you do not have white wine on hand, first and always blot up as much of the spill as you can. Then spray the area with hydrogen peroxide, follow that with a generous sprinkling of baking soda. Let it dry. As it is drying the peroxide should neutralize the red wine and the baking soda will absorb the liquid as it dries.

All Rugs Are Not Made Equal.

Area rugs and wall to wall carpet should not be cleaned the same way. Wall to wall carpet is synthetic materials and can withstand steam cleaning on a regular basis. While area rugs are usually made of natural or animal fibers, need to be cared for in a different way. Most area rugs are hand-knotted and soil gets trapped in the knots and crevices. You can have your area rugs steam cleaned; this will only get the top portion of the rug cleaned, but what about the fibers in between and the underneath. Handmade natural fiber area rugs are a big investment, so choose a professional carefully, one who has experience in area rug cleaning, like JP Carpet Cleaning Expert Floor Care!

How Often Should I Clean My Carpets?

First question to ask yourself…..Why should I get my carpet cleaned?

Even if you don’t think your carpets look dirty, guess again, they are. Dirt gets deep down into the fibers of the carpet. Getting your carpets cleaned on a regular basis will make your home a healthier place to live. Carpets that are cleaned regularly will extend the life of your carpet. The largest carpet manufacturer highly recommends hot water extraction (steam cleaning).

Next question to ask yourself…..When should I get my carpet cleaned?

Just don’t get your carpets cleaned when it looks dirty or once every couple of years. Here are some guidelines to go by:

Lightly soiled - vacuum once a week – clean every 12-18 months
Normal soil (families’ w/kids, elderly) – vacuum 1-2 times a week – clean every 6-12 months
Heavily soiled (families’ w/pets, smoking) – vacuum 2-4 times a week – clean every 3-6 months
Extreme conditions (large families, multiple pets) vacuum daily – clean every 2-3 months

Last question to ask yourself…..How should I get my carpets cleaned?

Use a company that does hot water extraction or in other words, steam cleaning. Ask them what exactly do they do or what process. For example do they prespray the whole carpet, treat the stains and spots and is it a deep cleaning for the price they are charging you. Also use a company that gives you a firm price up front.

The very last questions to ask yourself…..Who should I get to clean my carpets?

Carpet Corn Rowing

Sometimes, after many years of use or even a few weeks, a carpet can develop something called “corn rowing.” This is an apt name as the condition looks like many miniature rows of corn, giving the appearance of a corn field. This is not, however, considered a manufacturer defect. (Corn rowing in carpets look like this or this.
Corn Rowing occurs usually in traffic areas of your carpet, such as hallways or pivot points. It also is more common in carpets with a wider distance between rows and tufts and carpets with a higher pile.
Some things we do can also cause corn rowing. These actions include aggressive vacuuming, incorrect padding, poor maintenance of the carpet, carpets that haven’t been stretched properly, or not adjusting the vacuum to the carpet pile
Sometimes corn rowing just happens, and is inevitable, but there are some behaviors we can maintain in order to prevent corn rowing. One such behavior is carpet raking. This works on longer shag rugs and carpets with a loose carpet pile. The rake can be purchased at any janitorial supply warehouse. Another behavior is changing the direction in which you vacuum. Perhaps one time vacuum toward one end of your home, and the next time, vacuum towards the opposite side, and of course make sure your vacuum is appropriate for your carpet.
Unfortunately carpets do have a memory, and once corn rowing sets in, it is highly unlikely that it can be fixed. We here at JP Carpet Cleaning recommend regular carpet raking as the most likely way to prevent corn rowing.

Carpet Warranty and What You Need To Know

When looking for a carpet cleaner, it’s important to know about the warranty on the carpet you have. A lot of the warranties that come with the carpet require a professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months. A lot of these warranties will also be voided if the teflon carpet protection is striped from the carpeting, which is a normal side-effect of a professional cleaning. So, when looking for a person to do your carpet cleaning, try to find a company with a fair price on teflon protection.
Teflon is the generic name for carpet protection. It is called Teflon as this is the chemical compound put onto the carpet. Carpet protectors are usually called by the name of the brand producing it, for example Scotchguard or Dupont.
Teflon, though usually considered only a carpet protector, can also be used to protect upholstered furniture. Ask your professional carpet cleaner, if they also do upholstery cleaning, and if they carry carpet protection JP carpet can do all of these things for you.

Grout

Everyone love those beautiful tile floors, be it porcelain, marble or terracotta. But what makes the floor look truly finished? The grout. When the grout is finally laid is when your project begins looking like the final product and you truly begin seeing the fruits of your labor.
Grout and the process of grouting aren't too difficult, but for just starting out there are a lot of things you should know.
Choosing Your Grout
Along with different colors, grout also come in different types of grain, sanded and non-sanded. Picking which type of grain depends on what your project is. Non-sanded, for example, is more appropriate for tiles with less than 1/8" between them. The color you choose should also depend on the tile and the style you are looking for.
Starting the Process
As with most things, it is recommended to have a professional do the job, if only for the security in the knowledge that they will do the job to the best of their ability, as JP Floor Care does. If you choose to do the work yourself, make sure to be entirely prepared before beginning. You will need two buckets, one for clean water and one for the grout, stirring sticksgrout, water, a grout float, and a grout sponge. Follow the manufacturer's instructions when mixing the grout, but start by adding only 3/4 of the water recommended. This way, you can gradually reach the desired consistency for your grout rather than running right by it.
Applying the Grout
Press the grout into the spaces between the tiles with the float at a diagonal (this direction is in order to fill the line completely). Do one more swipe over the top once the line is filled in order to remove the excess. Give the grout about 15 to 30 minutes to set before wiping off the grout with the sponge and water. Remember not to push too hard or you might need to redo a grout line or two. Allow the grout to sit for three or so hours more before wiping once again with the sponge and water. Remember, we are trying to clean the grout on the tiles away, so try to keep the water as clean as possible.
Finishing
Don't worry if the next morning you walk into the space and the tiles look dirty. This is normal after a grouting. Simply grab a dry cloth and rub away the dirt. Try not to use a wet cloth, as you may reconstitute the top layer of grout and pull that all over the tiles, resulting in a similar situation as the one you walked into. Any dust on the floor can be swept up.
Last Minute Tips
Once all is said and done, it is highly recommended that you have your floor sealed. This will keep the water away from your beautiful new grout lines, and increase the longevity of the lines. If you find yourself with cracking grout lines, and choose to fix it yourself, the cracking lines must be removed. This is made easier with the use of a grout removal bit or a grout saw, but make sure to keep a steady hand. If you find the grout and tile cracking, this can be a sign of a poor foundation under the tiles, or simply age. If you find this happening, for your peace of mind, before tearing up the tiles, call a professional, see if they can give you the reasons, and see if they can fix it for you. As always, I recommend JP Floor Care for these kind of things. Kind and courteous, JP will tell you the truth all the time, and tell you multiple ways to fix the problem, so you can make an educated decision based on the multiple factors in your life

The Color of Your Wood Floor

Whether you are renovating a recently purchased home, or getting to the renovations on your current home, wood floors are always a good investment. They bring beauty and character into your home, and let you express your own personal sense of style and decor, and whether you have an idea in mind or have absolutely no clue yet as to what you are looking for; here are a few things to keep in mind when finding your perfect floors.

1) Where should I go?
Go to a local showroom or warehouse. Sometimes, it helps to bring along a friend, an interior designer, or even the installer of the floors (if you aren't doing it yourself). Peter at JP Floor Care can accompany you to his supplier’s warehouse, or to a showroom of your choice. He can help you find something within your budget that works beautifully in your home. He can explain all the in's and outs of the floor to help you make an informed decision.
2) How can I really choose a floor that matches my room without bringing the entire showroom to my home?
What room are you laying wood floors in? Bring along small samples of the things in that room, for example a throw pillow from the living room, or a sample of your cabinets from your kitchen. These can be used to find a floor complementary to the decor that you have or plan to have in the room.
3) How can I narrow down my selection with so many choices?
No matter how many choices, there will always be two or three that you keep going back to. Take samples of those pieces home. Size each style up in your home, see which works best for you, and if none of them work, try again. You want it to be just right for you and your home, so don't settle, and keep trying until you find the perfect one.
4) What is the best way to really see how the floor will look?
Bring the samples you like home, and then see how they look in a variety of conditions. Lay them on the floor nearer to the baseboard, the cabinets, the refrigerator, or the couch, anything you would like to see against the floor. See what they look during the day, with natural light, in the evening, with more artificial light. Whatever floor you choose, it should satisfy these conditions for you.
5) Anything else I should know?
The only other bits of information you should keep are small detail points. If you want your room to look more cozy and homey, try to look for a floor with warm red, brown and/or golden tones. If you want the room to give the idea of more space, a more gray or white floor will do wonders. Also, keep in mind pricing. Sometimes the floor you want might be a bit out of your price range, and that's okay! If you are really set on the color, try to find the same color in a different type of flooring, like laminate flooring, for example. If you really want true-blue wood floors, try to find a similar color more in your price range or try for a different color all together.

And that's it! Not too hard! But it is always useful to get a second opinion, so call a friend to help, or a spouse, or an interior designer, or our knowledgeable experts here at JP Carpet and Expert Floor Care!

Helpful hints for carpets cleaning and hardwood floors

Cleaning carpets is a task that in most cases can be very tedious and complicated to make, and even more if we are not sure which product to use. The tasks range from removing stains to eliminate odors which must be carried out with any carpet in any room of the home or office. Let's talk about some tricks that will help facilitate this work to clean your carpets.
A nice trick to disinfect and clean the carpet is using salt, you must grab for them a salt layer over the entire surface of the carpet that is intended to clean, and then screw it. You need to keep it this way for about four hours and then unscrew and then need vacuuming to remove any salt residue.
Another of the most common problems with carpets are stain to remove them before they stand there forever, you need to apply baking soda, hydrogen peroxide or sparkling water. Leave it a while for it to act and then dry with a dry cloth or absorbent paper towel. Another important recommendation is to clean the stain should be from the edge of the carpet into the stain to avoid unnecessary spread.
Odors are also a headache when carpets is that they acquire over time of use, that is why we suggest in these cases Sprinkle clothe the carpet with baking soda and leave it there for about four hours before removing it with vacuum. Baking soda has many uses in the home cleaning because it is very practical and efficient way to remove odors.
Now let’s talk about wood floors, parquet floors specifically. For this type of flooring you need to consider several things, such as cleaning products that are used in a manner and using premium materials that do not impair the details and lose their beauty.
First you take a bucket and fill it with warm water, then you put a little vinegar in cooking, take a damp cloth and squeeze it, you should avoid using too much water to the maximum because this can cause the wood to rise. Let it dry slowly by itself.
Every 3 months is recommended watering on the parquet a very thin layer of olive oil using a clean cloth, this to prevent the wood from drying out and brighten the floor. But for this process to be effective it is necessary to keep the dirt from sticking to the wood, so you need to constantly be removing dust with a dry cloth.
Caring for floors and carpets is very important for you and your family feel good, besides the family and friends who visit key chain gratified with immaculate and well protected in their floors, do not use low quality products because remember usually what is economical in the long run you may find it much more expensive when it comes to damage to one of their floors, so strictly follow these recommendations and will have a more comfortable and pleasant environment for you and your home.

Breathe easy with a clean carpet

You can be as careful as can be, wiping your feet before coming inside the house or taking your shoes off entirely, never drinking red wine, ever, or any other colored liquid for that matter; but understand this, you will spill something on your carpet eventually. Carpeting adds warmth to a home or room and can even act as an air filter by trapping circulating particles and bacteria in the air as they fall, by way of gravity, down on to the floor. But what happens when the “filter” gets clogged? When it becomes so saturated with dirt and particles that the filter no longer works? Well then the air quality around you will diminish as will your over all well being by aggravating conditions like allergies and asthma.

All carpeting over time will get dirty, sometimes really dirty, that’s when it’s time to call in the trained professionals to do a good carpet cleaning and really get deep into the heart of the problem by cleaning up the carpet and therefore the air.

Here are a few reasons why you should have your carpet cleaned:

  1. Air Quality: As you learned above, your carpet acts as an air filter much like your central air conditioning or heating unit. All the dust particles and bacteria in the air gravity eventually pushes down on the floor where it remains trapped in the carpet thereby cleaning up the air. For sufferers of respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, or emphysema one major source of attacks could be pollens, fungus, and other particles caught in your carpet. Remember, you eat, sleep, and breathe around that carpet so it’s worth it to make sure you’re eating, sleeping, and breathing the cleanest air possible.

  1. Get rid of Mold: Let’s be honest, there’s nothing quite like stepping out of bed on to nice, warm, fluffy carpet on a cold winter morning. What you may not know is that warm carpet can be a breeding ground for mold. Cleaning the carpet regularly prevents mold formations and all the possible skin allergies and infections that can come with it.

  1. Appearance: Last but certainly not least is having that carpet looking and smelling brand new again. A nice clean carpet reminds you why you decided to put in carpet in the first place. The air is clean, the room smells fresh, and the carpet looks wonderfully clean.

There are quite a few methods used to clean carpeting. Whether you go with Dry cleaning using methods such as:

Dry Foam: where a shampoo is applied to the carpet then vacuumed out after it dries
Dry-Chem: where a dry chemical is used then absorbed by a machine along with the dirt
Dry-Compound: where a special mixture is spread on the carpet and brushed into the carpet by a special machine. A vacuum machine then sucks all the material out of the carpeting.

Or you decide on a generally preferred method commonly known as Hot Water extraction or Steam Cleaning (despite no steam ever being used in this method) where hot water is forced under high pressure into the carpet then sucked, or extracted, back out.

Whichever method you decide regular carpet cleaning is important. Talk to a professional about which method would work best for your situation. Give that carpet a good cleaning, take a deep breath and enjoy your carpet as it looks brand new again.

Carpet cleaning and installation

The most important and necessary thing that we need in our home is carpet. These have ability to make or break the appearance of our whole home. This is the reason why many people try to make it point to keep the carpets in their new homes cleaned, so that the look of the home will be as elegant and beautiful as it can be. This fact can be true only under some conditions. Carpets always need cleaning, so that they can be at their best. A freshly bought or newly installed carpet will help pull off a simple room.
Carpet Cleaning Los Angeles
You will see that most carpet owners try to make it a point to defend the cleanliness of new carpets. All of us know that carpets pull in dirt very quickly, even if we keep our carpets clean and try to take as much care as we can. You will always see the stain start to pop out of it, simply from every day use. Once the carpet appears dirty, this can leave the whole room destroyed. The room will seem very untidy and it will always seem to be not well cleaned. This is the first and the most basic reason why we should always take care of the cleanliness of the carpets every day.
The carpets should look as new as they can be, whether you clean the carpets by yourself or you get someone to clean the carpets. The vacuum cleaner is an at-home tool that has, in fact, made maintaining your carpet very easy. The effective cleaning job is done by the vacuum cleaner. By using this types of tool and equipment you can make sure to remove the dirt which is ensnared within the carpet fibers. This is very effective when need to get rid of the strong particles. As usual, however, you want to have your carpets professionally cleaned every six months in order to keep it in the best condition you can. A regiment of regular vacuuming and professional cleanings will increase the life and beauty of your carpets.
By using these tools you can also remove the strong dust and allergens which have remained in the carpets. Always have the carpet steam cleaned. This is your best protection against these allergens. A professional steam cleaning will leave your carpet looking and feeling wonderful.
At this time, when the popularity of carpets has skyrocketed, cleaning your carpets properly has become a task too big for you to do alone. In the past, carpet cleaning meant using a baking soda paste to scrub the carpet to try to remove the dirt and dust that is trapped in the fibers of carpets. However, the scrubbing destroyed the fibers of the carpet, and the soap was almost impossible to remove.
Nowadays, there are much more effective cleaning ways to remove whatever is pulled into the carpets. But be careful of what you buy, people can find many of the chemicals carpet cleaners use, but without the proper equipment, the carpet will be damaged instead of cleaned. You want to be careful with the products you buy. Sometimes, products advertised as a stain remover will create more lasting damage than the stain itself. But, if you must use an over the counter product, take care in removing all of the soap you put into the carpet, never over soak the stain with the product and never, ever, scrub. This will ruin the integrity of your carpet forever. Always get a professional opinion on what sort of products are safe to be used on your carpets.
